đź”’ The Golden Rules of Buying & Selling in Ghana
- Meet in a Busy Public Place: Always conduct meetups in daylight at crowded public locations (e.g. Accra Mall, West Hills Mall, Kumasi City Mall, major bank premises, or busy fuel stations).
- Inspect Before You Pay: Check electronic gadgets (laptops, iPhones, televisions), cars, and clothing thoroughly. Ensure phones are not iCloud/Google locked.
- Never Send Advance Mobile Money (Momo): Do NOT send money for “delivery”, “booking”, or “customs fees” before you have physically inspected the item.
- Be Realistic About Prices: If a brand new iPhone 15 Pro Max is listed for GH₵ 1,500, it is a scam. If a deal sounds too good to be true, it almost certainly is.
- Bring a Friend: For high-value transactions (cars, high-end electronics, land, apartments), bring a friend or colleague with you.
